SOURCES 2 Script Development Workshop in North Sweden

SOURCES 2 is proud to return to North Bothnia, continuing the partnership with Filmpool Nord which has been started in 1999. The upcoming SOURCES 2 Script Development Workshop will be held from 17th – 25th November 2011 with the support and the cooperation of Filmpool Nord.
The workshop venue will be the Cape East, a conference & spa hotel in Haparanda – located at the easternmost point of the Swedish mainland adjacent to the Finnish border.
The Haparanda session will gather participants (writers, directors and producers), advisers and guests from Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom. In an intensive seven-day session participants will develop their projects and receive professional training. The workshop will be followed by a three-month development period coached by the advisers and a follow-up session.
Ten feature film projects and four creative documentaries have been selected for participation. Two work groups with feature film projects will be guided by Gaby Prekop (screenwriter, script editor; Hungary) and Ruth McCance (screenwriter, script editor, consultant; United Kingdom). The group with creative documentary projects will be led by Ulla Simonen (documentary adviser, consultant, producer; Finland).

A SOURCES 2 event for local documentary filmmakers will take place in Luleå on Friday 18th November. Irena Taskovski, renowned distributor/producer based in the UK, will speak about Creative Documentaries From The Artistic Process To Promotion And Sales, preceded by the documentary Czech Dream (2004).

Friday, 18th November 2011 at Cape East, screening 16:15 – 18:15, panel 18:30 – 20:00.
The SOURCES of Inspiration event will present the Swedish feature film Jägarna 2 / False Trail (2011) by Kjell Sundvall, followed by a panel with the filmmakers Björn Carlström (writer/producer), Stefan Thunberg (writer) and Per Janérus (producer). Afterwards MEDIA Desk Sweden will invite for a MEDIA presentation and reception.

Sunday, 20th November 2011 at Cape East, screening 16:45 – 18:15, round table 18:30 – 19:30.
The SOURCES 2 Round Table will feature the Lithuanian writer/director Saulius Drunga who will
present his feature film Anarchy in Zirmunai (2010) The film was developed through a SOURCES 2 workshop and awarded the MEDIA New Talent Award 2007.
